Sarita

Sarita Mishra is an accomplished Odissi dancer with 35 years of dedication to the art form. She began learning Odissi at the age of 4 and has since performed in over 1,800 stage shows at both national and international levels. Alongside her performances, she has trained numerous students across India and abroad, while also promoting Odissi in rural Indian villages by working with government schools. Sarita received 20 years of training under Guru Niranjan Rout in the Guru Debaprasad Das style and has spent the last 15 years training under Guru Bichitra Nanda Swain in the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra style. An empaneled artist with ICCR and Spicmacay, a graded artist of Doordarshan, and a recipient of the National Scholarship from the Government of India, she has mentored students who have gone on to pursue successful solo dance careers. As the founder and creative director of the Adyasha Foundation in Bengaluru, Sarita imparts pure Odissi training and organizes biannual classical dance festivals. She also creates new compositions in Odiya, Sanskrit, and Kannada for herself and her students
